Zhuoshui has been Listed in the Historical Toponymic Protection List of Chongqing Making Itself Step into the Fast Lane of Development
(January 22,2021)Recently,Zhuoshui scenic spot of Qianjiang has been listed in the first batch of historical toponymic protection list of Chongqing after it was successfully rated as a national 5A scenic spot.Therefore,this scenic spot with the most historical and cultural heritage in Chongqing has stepped into the fast lane of development.

Chongqing recently released the first batch of 115 historical toponymic protection lists,among which Qianjiang Zhuoshui was included.Based on the historical,well-known,cultural connotation,cultural uniqueness and inheritance value of the place names,these protection lists were selected and declared by districts and counties,reviewed by municipal departments and evaluated by experts,and finally determined after one year.They include ancient cities(capitals),ancient counties,ancient towns,ancient villages,important modern place names,etc.

According to the requirements of the historical toponymic protection,Chongqing will protect the names in the list by hierarchical and classified way.Generally,the place names that are still in use shall not be renamed;the place names that have not yet been used shall be preferentially used according to the principle of being conducive to protection and inheritance and being close to the region;for those that can not be used,measures such as setting up commemorative markers and erecting steles shall be taken to protect them.
If it is necessary to make a decision on whether to retain or use historical place names due to urban and rural construction,transformation or administrative division adjustment,the civil affairs department or the competent professional department shall fully listen to the opinions of experts and the public through hearings,demonstration meetings and other forms.
It has been rated as class-5A scenic spot after 5 years of construction and development.
It is understood that Zhuoshui scenic spot started to create a national calss-5A scenic spot in November 2015.In strict accordance with the national class-5A scenic spot creation standards and evaluation rules,the software and hardware facilities of the scenic spot were upgraded to bring better tourism experience for tourists.The spot completed the renovation of houses,the extension of wind and rain bridges,280 mu of colorful flower fields and seven gardens cultural compound and other projects,improving the richness of the scenic area and recreational value.

The digital command center,intelligent tourism public service platform and scenic spot e-commerce center have been established and improved.The scenic spot app,wechat,microblog and portal website have been set up.The online booking,network marketing,mobile payment and other service functions have been improved.Through the construction and expansion of communication base station,the WiFi and 4G signal full coverage of the scenic spot has been realized,and the scenic spot has been well protected the level of“smartness”is constantly improving.
Zhuoshui has successively won the titles of“national famous historical and cultural town”,“Chinese rhyme cultural scenic spot”and“ancient town of Chinese couplet culture”.The popularity,reputation and influence of the scenic spot have increased unprecedentedly.
The continuous rise of tourism in the scenic area has led to the development of folk customs,Tujia houses,leisure agriculture,wedding photography and other tourism routes.The scenic spot is developing vigorously.
With the creation of 5A scenic spots as the starting point,Qinjiang vigorously has implemented the targeted poverty alleviation of tourism,promoted the residents to get rid of poverty and increase their income,and played a leading role in the tourism industry chain.Zhuoshui ancient town also has a“poverty alleviation+tourism”specialty museum,which is set in the Tujia stilted building group with unique regional characteristics,and the decoration is mainly ethnic minority characteristics.
The specialty museum covers an area of more than 300 square meters.It is divided into intangible cultural heritage products and cultural tourism products areas based on Xilankapu,shijituo earthenware and silk,and Qianjiang agricultural products areas based on Qianjiang chicken offal,Morchella,diguniu and mung bean powder,covering the vast majority of specialty products in 30 streets,towns and townships of the whole district.
On December 29,2020,the Ministry of culture and tourism of the people’s Republic of China announced that Zhuoshui scenic spot in Qianjiang district is a national 5A scenic spot.Zhuoshui scenic spot has not only become a business card for Qianjiang District’s foreign exchange,but also a unique resource and beautiful business card of Chongqing’s tourism for“travel thousands of miles to the vast”.
According to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Qianjiang District Tourism Investment and Development Company,creating class-5A is not the end,and they will continue to practice the new development concept,adhere to the people-oriented development idea,create an upgraded version of Qianjiang tourism development,and build a more beautiful Qianjiang.

In the ancient town of Zhuoshui in Qianjiang,there is a moral tablet of“heavenly conscience”standing in 1888,which has been standing intact for 130 years.Honesty is the core content of honesty culture in Zhuoshui scenic area,the witness of history and the creed of local people.
Among the wooden dwellings in Zhuoshui,there are stilted buildings with rich Tujia style,and Huizhou style quadrangles with the charm of Jiangnan water town.In such a different style and disorderly arrangement,it outlines a harmonious and quiet street scene like a traditional Chinese painting.
